AI gets memory and generates tons of content. Are you there yet?

Use it wisely :)

Hey reader, AI enthusiast! 🤖

Winter is nearly over, days are getting longer, and (omg 🙈) it feels like there is a smell of changes in the air. Fingers crossed, these changes are for good…however! Something stays the same: me and my 3-minute newsletter.

Whatever is rolling, it’s your time to stop and spend the next 3 minutes in the reality of AI updates. And the time starts now! HERE – WE – GO! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃

  1. Partner in crime 🦹‍♀️

For better or worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and health, we share our hopes, dreams and prompts with ChatGPT. As a partner in crime, it faithfully retains our conversations in memory...

Last Tuesday, OpenAI announced that from now on, it will use Memory for ChatGPT to enhance personalisation by allowing the AI to remember user preferences and details across multiple conversations. Sounds helpful and valuable. However, I can't help but mention concerns about privacy and sensitivity surrounding certain information 🤔. To address these concerns, OpenAI is introducing temporary chats where conversations and memories are not stored.

The public response is understandably cautious. OpenAI emphasises opt-in, and data protection measures, yet uncertainty persists regarding how the AI will handle sensitive data and whether users may feel uncomfortable with its level of recall. Ultimately, the decision to share specific thoughts with our "little helper" rests with each individual.

It’s worth reminding you that OpenAI is not the pioneering entity in exploring memory within generative AI. In its own LLM, Gemini 1.0, Google has placed significant emphasis on "multi-turn" technology. So, with the circle narrowing, I have nothing else to mention but that anything you say can and will be used against you 👨‍⚖️

  1. Long live the King 👑

It’s been a couple of weeks since King Charles was diagnosed with a form of cancer, but books have already been written about King’s disease! Though, without an official decree. And by Artificial intelligence on Amazon 🤯. The problem is the King has not revealed the specifics of what kind of cancer he has. On Sunday, an official from the palace told the Mail, “Our legal team will be looking at the issue closely. We call on any individuals or organisations facilitating their sale to withdraw them immediately.”

So far, seven (!!!)  biographies 📚 have made false claims about Charles’ ill health and are on sale on Amazon. The company has since deleted several of the books written by AI that were placed alongside legitimate royal biographies.

Buckingham Palace commented: “Any such titles speculating about His Majesty’s diagnosis and treatment are intrusive, insensitive and filled with inaccuracies. Our legal team will be looking at the issue closely. We call on any individuals or organisations facilitating their sale to withdraw them immediately.”

In response to that, a spokesperson for Amazon was quoted saying: “We don’t allow AI-generated content that violates our content guidelines, including content that creates a disappointing customer experience. We have removed the titles we found that violated our guidelines.” ✋

  1. Re: Say Hi to AI 📧

They say that laziness often results from smart work, freeing up time for well-deserved idleness 🛌. Why, then, should we spend our precious time on manual ‘labour’ when we have such a practical helper as AI? According to Hubspot, 55% of businesses predict that people will generally turn to chatbots rather than search engines, 36% use AI already and 58% plan on increasing the use of automation and AI by 2024. This is due to the user interface being more personable and individualised to the marketer’s needs, of which 72% agree.

This data once again proves that technologies are neither good nor bad: that it’s just a tool. It’s up to you how to implement it: 24% agree that AI tools that could help customer services, such as chatbots and generative AI emails, would help their business most, 25% of marketers who have on the record “effective” strategies use AI against 5% using “ineffective” strategies. Think about it: spring is coming; maybe this is your time to rethink your life and your business strategy. 🌸

That’s it for today, time to say goodbye and return to the bustling reality. I trust your day has been infused with a touch of excitement, and I've had the pleasure of stimulating your thoughts!

Oh, by the way. Have you seen Sora by OpenAI?

Stay curious, and see you next week! 🚀
